Warden Betty Ann MacQuarrie
Betty Ann MacQuarrie is a lifelong resident of Mabou, Inverness County, where she has worked as Manager of the Mother of Sorrows Pioneer Shrine since 1991. Her community involvement has found her sitting on the Community Development Association, the Rink Commission, the Central Inverness Community Health Board, Mabou Ceilidh Committee, MADCDA Watershed Committee, St. Mary’s CWL and more throughout her life. Betty Ann had four children with her late husband Alexander, a son in Saudi Arabia, a son in Alberta and a son in Nova Scotia. Her daughter fought bravely against ovarian cancer but sadly passed away in July 2014. She loves spending time with her growing family, as she is now Gramma to five grandchildren and Great-Gramma to one.
Betty Ann is always ready to listen to and address the issues of the people of District 5 and willing to work with the other councillors in ensuring that our Municipality provides quality services and representation. She sits on several Municipal Committees and meets with community organizations and residents of Inverness County. Warden MacQuarrie strives to be approachable to all residents of the Municipality, aggressive when representing their interests, and assertive when assuring the Municipality provides quality services and representation to them.
