The Municipality of the County of Inverness offers many payment options for its property owners.

In Person

Residents can make payments at the Municipal Office, which is located at 375 Main Street, Port Hood. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, money order, bank draft or debit.

Payment by Credit Card - PAYMENTUS

The Municipality of the County of Inverness is pleased to offer an additional payment option for customers interested in using their credit card to pay their tax or utility bill. Customers have the opportunity to make tax and/or utility payments using their Visa or MasterCard. The Municipality has partnered with Paymentus Corporation to bring you the convenience of paying by credit card. Paymentus Corporation is a third party automated payment service that accepts Visa or MasterCard.

To access this service, customers should be ready with their property tax or water utility account number, the balance owing on their bill and their credit card. You will be asked to confirm payment of a convenience fee of 2.25% of the total payment. You will be provided with a confirmation number if the transaction is successful.

Why is there a service fee?

Paymentus charges a fee to use their service. The fee covers payment handling and processing charges. The Municipality of the County of Inverness DOES NOT RECEIVE any part of this service fee. Paymentus is an independent company providing a service for the Municipality and those customers wishing to pay by credit card.
