Volunteer Recognition 2021: Bill Murphy

Congratulations, Bill Murphy!

The Tartan Garden Society of Judique wishes to nominate William (Bill) Murphy as their Volunteer of the Year.

Since moving to Judique with his wife Mildred Lynn, Bill soon became the driving force behind the revitalization of the Tartan Gardens, spearheading the vegetable gardens. Many gardeners working together produced a bumper crop, much of which was donated to various community residents.

To help bolster spirits last summer, Bill organized the Tartan Gardens Bubble Day. From construction of a walk-through maze to helping plan children’s events and a sunset fireworks display, Bill was instrumental in making this event a reality.

Bill became involved with “Better Internet for Inverness County” as the resident expert for technical advice on internet and cell phone infrastructure. He committed hundreds of hours to the group’s successful lobby efforts.
It is our pleasure to nominate Bill as a real example of what one good volunteer can accomplish in a very short time!
Congratulations, Bill.
