Volunteer Recognition 2021: Jackie MacDonald

Congratulations, Jackie Mac Donald!

St. Peter’s Parish Council, Port Hood is pleased to nominate John A. Mac Donald (Jackie Dan J.) as their Volunteer of the Year for his dedication and work to the parish of Port Hood and indeed to the community of Port Hood.

Jackie has been a member of St. Peter’s Parish for more than 50 years. During this time, he was active in the affairs of the parish and served on parish council, served as a supporting member of the Cursillo movement for the church, and he is an executive member of St Peter’s Parish Knights of Columbus Council 8275.

Jackie has freely volunteered his time and energy to the many maintenance and renovation projects at the church and at the parish hall. His skill as a carpenter is reflected in the high quality of work typical of projects he undertakes for the parish. Jackie goes about his work with a quiet uncomplaining dignity, a predisposition of his generosity of spirit.

Jackie is also a 54-year veteran of the Port Hood Fire Department and a founding member of the Port Hood Food Bank.

Congratulations, Jackie on this very deserving distinction!
