Water Conservation Order: Community of Inverness
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO USERS OF THE INVERNESS WATER SYSTEM
Due to water consumption outpacing production in the community of Inverness, the Municipality of the County of Inverness is asking users of the Inverness Water System to continue to make diligent efforts to conserve water.
To conserve water, please:
– Take shorter showers and do not take baths;
– Do not water your garden or lawn;
– Do not wash your vehicle or boat;
– Do not let your faucet run when washing or rinsing;
– Avoid washing clothes as much as possible;
– Keep a bottle of water in the fridge to avoid letting water run to obtain a cold drink;
– Flush your toilet less often.
To increase water production, the Municipality is working to bring a new production well online in the community of Inverness. In the meantime, please make water conservation a daily practice.

BROAD COVE BANKS RD & SIGHT POINT: Boil Order Lifted
The Municipality of the County of Inverness would like to inform all residents of Broad Cove Banks Road and Sight Point that the boil water advisory is no longer in effect and they are free to consume water without boiling it.
It is still necessary to conserve water at this time.
The Municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused and thanks you for your understanding and cooperation during this process.

BROAD COVE BANKS ROAD AND SIGHT POINT – BOIL ORDER ADVISORY
Please be informed that residents of Broad Cove Banks Road and Sight Point are currently under a boil water advisory as a public health preventative action. The boil order is required as a precaution due to the loss of water in the waterline that supplies the Broad Cove Banks Road and Sight Point areas. The boil order will remain in place until water is restored and all sampling has been completed.
Users and residents of the Broad Cove Banks Road and Sight Point areas and are advised to following preventive measures when using water to ensure its safety prior to consumption and use:
• Bring tap water to a rolling boil and maintain for a minimum of 1-2 minutes
• Cool water before using for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing beverages and food.
Please share widely with neighbours, friends, visitors, and members of vulnerable populations such as seniors who may be living alone.
Please note that work is underway to restore water and repressurize the waterline suppling the Broad Cove Banks Road and Sight Points areas. This notice is being issued in advance of water restoration to keep the public advised of this important public safety measure that is required once water service is restored.
