Park Project - Whycocomagh Active Transportation and Detailed Design Plan
The Inverness Multicourt Facility opened in October 2025, as an accessible space located in the community of Inverness with multiple courts for pickleball, and basketball, along with table tennis tables and bean bag toss games. The goal is to provide more access to physical activity for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities and to have locations that reinforce and expand municipal recreation programming offerings and enable local organizations to have the quality of facilities necessary to host tournaments which increases community visitation and supports local businesses.
What You Need to Know:
Location: 85 MacLean St., Inverness
Hours of Operation: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. seven days a week.

A Few Reminders:
Pickleball Courts:
- For pickleball use only, to protect special court surface.
- Please avoid wearing dark-soled shoes, as they will cause damage.
Basketball Courts:
- Can also be used for other casual games like pickup hockey.

Please note that surveillance cameras will be in operation, and participants play at their own risk.
Looking Ahead:
- An Expression of Interest for naming rights to the facility is ongoing.
- Work continues to secure funding for future phases.
- Work is underway for an opening plan for the 2026 season. More information will be shared once details are confirmed.
Project Timeline:
The project has been broken into two phases.
Phase One included the construction of the pickleball and basketball courts, table tennis tables, bean bag toss games, an entrance, parking area, accessible pathways, bike racks, lighting, bike repair stations, benches, and garbage cans. This phase is now complete.
Phase Two would be funding and budget contingent and will be informed by community engagement.

Expressions of Interest – Naming Rights
The Municipality of Inverness County issued a Request for Expressions of Interest for the naming rights of the Inverness Multicourt Facility in October 2025. Submissions are now closed.
