Procurement

Tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the Municipality of Inverness County are posted on the Nova Scotia Government Procurement Opportunities and Public Notices website. If you are new to the process, we encourage you to take a moment to explore the portal. It’s the central hub where all opportunities and updates are published.
It is the sole responsibility of vendors to monitor the Nova Scotia government website for any addenda that may be issued during an active procurement. Results for all procurement procedures are also available on the same site.
To view all Municipality of Inverness County tenders:
- Visit Procurement Opportunities and Public Notices – Procurement Portal
- On the left-hand side of the page, you will see a Filters panel.
- Under Organization, select Municipality of Inverness County
- Then select Apply Filters
- All Municipality of Inverness County tenders will appear
Please note: The Government of Nova Scotia Procurement Portal controls the status labels applied to all tenders. Only three status options are available:
- Open – The tender is currently available for viewing and bidding.
- Expired – The tender has closed and is under evaluation by the Municipality. No further bids can be accepted.
- Awarded – The tender has closed and the Municipality has issued an official determination.
- Important: “Awarded” is the default label used by the Portal once a decision is made.
- This may indicate either:
- Awarded – A contract has been granted, or
- Not Awarded/Canceled – No contract was issued.

Our Council
Municipal Council consists of 6 elected Councillors representing a population of approximately 14000. Elections are held every four years. Council chooses its own Warden by ballot. A similar process is used to elect a Deputy Warden. Click more info to see individual biographies and contact information.
Minutes
Council meetings are held on a monthly basis, on the first Thursday of each month. In the event of a holiday, Council meets on the following day, Friday. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers which is located on the 3rd floor of the Municipal Administration Building. Council meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. and the public is welcome to attend. All minutes include committee meetings such as policy, audit, community development or planning advisory are included in this section and are searchable.
Policies (A-Z)
From time to time new policies maybe adopted by the Municipality of the County of Inverness. It shall be the intent of Council to follow a specified procedure for the adoption of all new policies. This will ensure consistency and will provide an opportunity for careful consideration and review prior to adoption of a policy.
Bylaws
The Municipality’s Bylaw Department is responsible for promoting compliance with municipal bylaws through education, investigation, and enforcement. The department works to ensure community safety and maintain standards that support a healthy and respectful environment for all residents and visitors of Inverness County.
Bylaw staff are available for inquiries and enforcement during regular business hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Procurement
The Municipality of the County of Inverness will no longer hosts its procurement opportunities on this website and our staff no longer maintain plan taker's lists; therefore, no longer has knowledge of who has downloaded opportunities. It will be the sole responsibility of the vendor to monitor the Nova Scotia Government website for any addenda that may be issued. We do provide links to the individual tender and RFP's that are hosted on the Nova Scotia Government's Tender Notices website.
