Paul Shears
Congratulations, Paul Shears!
The West Bay Road & District Volunteer Fire Department would like to announce Paul Shears as our Volunteer of the year for 2023. Paul is in his 3rd term as Chief for our department, and there’s no better way for us to thank him for all his hard work.
One of the many accomplishments Paul took on was ordering our brand-new apparatus. He spent many days on the phone and writing emails to get everything we wanted on it. Paul works very hard to help with obtaining upgrades and purchases of our equipment.
Paul was a member of our department for 15 years prior to his move to Fort McMurray in 2000 to work for Shell Canada. In 2018, Paul rejoined the department upon his return from Fort McMurray and now enjoys his part-time retirement, spending his time with partner Roseanne and their fur babies Josie, Scarlett and Harley as well as his grand-daughter whom he calls ‘Smiley Rylee’.
Congratulations Paul, we are very proud to call you our Volunteer Firefighter of the year!
