Volunteer opportunity: Accessibility Advisory Committee
The municipality is seeking to recruit 2 volunteers to sit on the Accessibility Advisory Committee. This is an opportunity to shape the municipality’s progress towards becoming fully accessible to all residents and visitors, regardless of ability.
The Accessibility Advisory Committee advises council on identifying, preventing, and eliminating barriers to accessibility, particularly for people with disabilities, in municipal programs, services, initiatives, and facilities.
The committee plays an important role in helping the municipality become an accessible community and meet its obligations under the Accessibility Act.

Eligibility
Applicants must
• be at least 18 years of age.
• be a resident of the Municipality of Inverness County for at least the last six months before making an application and continue reside in the municipality throughout the term of the appointment.
• not be ineligible for an appointment pursuant to the municipality’s public appointment policy.
Conditions
All members of the Accessibility Advisory Committee shall serve without pay. The committee must meet at least six times per year, or otherwise as needed to fulfill its duties.
