Bulky Garbage Collection Update – May 25, 2026

Due to high winds expected this evening throughout Inverness County, the Municipality of Inverness County is providing an update on Bulky Garbage Collection.

Residents with bulky garbage items that have not yet been collected are encouraged, where possible, to place heavier items on top of lighter materials to help prevent debris from being displaced by strong winds.

Collection will continue throughout the remainder of the week. A further update will be provided on Friday, May 29, 2026, if additional collection days are required.

Work is currently underway to complete collection in the following areas this week:

  • Pleasant Bay
  • Chéticamp
  • Inverness
  • Orangedale
  • West Bay
  • Mabou
  • In addition, some side roads in all communities still require collection.

The Municipality thanks residents for their cooperation and assistance in helping ensure a smooth Bulky Garbage Collection process.

For a full list of accepted materials, alternative disposal locations, and important reminders, view the fact sheet here: BulkyGarbageFactSheet.pdf

Residents with questions or concerns may call 1-866-258-0223, option 1, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Messages left after hours will be returned the following business day.
