Celebrating Dr. Suze Egar in Inverness

The Municipality of the County of Inverness is proud to congratulate Dr. Suze Egar, CCFP, on being named Nova Scotia’s 2026 Family Physician of the Year by the Nova Scotia College of Family Physicians (NSCFP).

Dr. Egar’s story is a true testament to community and belonging. Having first arrived in Inverness as a resident doctor at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital (ICMH), Dr. Egar fell in love with the area, stayed, and has spent their career deeply caring for local families across every stage of life, from the clinic and hospital to emergency care and home visits.

As a passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Egar helps guide the next generation of doctors coming through ICMH, proving that Inverness isn’t just a place to practice medicine; it’s a place to put down roots, find lifelong support, and call home.

“Dr. Egar’s journey from our local residency program to this incredible provincial honour is an inspiration to us all,” said Warden Bonny MacIsaac. “We are so proud to have them caring for our community.”
