FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 4th, 2019
PORT HOOD, N.S. – The Municipality of the County of Inverness is calling for residents to nominate dedicated volunteers that deserve recognition during its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner April 10th, 2019.
National Volunteer Week, which is taking place Canada-wide April 7th to 13th, 2019, celebrates volunteers, young and old, who work to better their country and their communities every day. Residents and non-profit organizations within the Municipality of the County of Inverness are invited to nominate deserving individuals in their community to be recognized. There is also a special Youth Volunteer of the Year Award, and a Volunteer Family Award.
“Volunteers give so much of their time and energy to the causes and communities that matter to them, and it’s always a pleasure to recognize their contributions,” said Donna MacDonald, Director of Recreation/Tourism at the Municipality of the County of Inverness.
The early-bird deadline for nominations is February 15th, 2019, but nominations are accepted until March 25th. Early-bird nominees’ names will be put in a draw to have a chance to represent Inverness County at the Provincial Volunteer Recognition Ceremony in Halifax.
To nominate someone today, contact Charlotte MacDonald at 902-787-3508, or by email at charlotte.macdonald@invernesscounty.ca.
