Notice of (Virtual) Public Hearing & Second Reading

Proposed Adoption of By-Law for the Municipality of the County of Inverness

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Municipality of the County of Inverness intends to consider adopting the following by-law:

By-Law No. 50:

BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW 30: CAPITAL COST OF SEWER & WATER CONSTRUCTION

The above By-Law will amend By-Law 30: Capital Cost of Sewer & Water Construction. The purpose of this amendment is to add section 14(n) which reads: “In the area served by the Inverness Sewer and Water system, namely Maple Street, the frontage rate is hereby set at $28.01 per lineal foot for sewer and water.”

On June 3, 2021, the Council accepted First Reading of the above By-Law. The motion to adopt By-Law No. 50: BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW 30: CAPITAL COST OF SEWER & WATER CONSTRUCTION will be presented to the Council for Public Hearing as well as Second and Final Reading at the Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 3:00pm by Zoom video conference. 

The Council will receive written or oral submissions concerning the above By-Law (in favour or opposition) at the above-noted Public Hearing. Written submissions must be received by the Municipality no later than 12:00pm (noon) on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Written submissions must be sent to the Municipality by email at: Debbie.Nicholson@invernesscounty.ca or by mail at: 375 Main St., Port Hood, NS, BOE 2W0.

Please take notice that the Public Hearing will be held during a Regular Council Meeting at 3:00pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

Since participation in the meeting will be via an online meeting platform please call 902-787-3501 prior to June 30, 2021, and you will be issued a link with directions on how to participate.
