Community Impact Employment Program
The Community Impact Employment Program complements federal or provincial wage subsidy programs to help organizations create meaningful, short-term employment opportunities that make a difference in their community.
This program replaces the former Summer Employment Support Grant.
What the program supports
The program supports jobs that align with an organization’s mission and benefits the community. Positions must meet program requirements related to wages, duration, supervision, and workplace standards, as outlined in the guidelines.
How to apply
1. Check eligibility
Review the Community Impact Employment Program Guidelines to confirm your organization and proposed staff position meet program requirements.

Apply to relevant federal or provincial wage subsidy programs, where eligible, these may include, but are not limited to:

Complete the online Community Impact Employment Program Application Form and upload the required documents.

4. Hire, report, and get reimbursed
Approved organizations hire and supervise the employee, then submit a brief final report to receive reimbursement, in accordance with the program guidelines.
Deadline
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and accepted until available program funding is fully allocated, subject to Council-approved budgets and alignment with federal and provincial employment grant timelines. For summer employment positions, please submit your application before April 26, 2026.
