Intergenerational cooking workshops coming to Inverness County
The Municipality Inverness County’s Seniors’ Safety Program is launching an intergenerational cooking workshop series, bringing older adults (55+) and youth together to share knowledge and learn new cooking skills.
The first workshop will take place at the Mabou Hall on Sunday, March 2, at 2 p.m. Limited spots are available and those interested in registering as asked to contact Seniors’ Safety Navigator, Maggie MacDonald, by e-mail Maggie.macdonald@invernesscounty.ca or phone (902) 258-7960.
Funded by the Nova Scotia Health Community Health Board Wellness Fund, the intergenerational cooking workshops aim to reduce isolation, ageism and improve communication and connection.
Wellness Funds awarded to non-profit groups working to improve health in their communities and address priorities identified by the Community Health Boards in their community.
Information about upcoming workshops will be shared once available.
