Inverness Water Pick-up | October 27, 2026

Due to several water main breaks that occurred earlier today, Oct. 27, 2026, the Municipality of Inverness County has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all Inverness water system users.

The boil water advisory is a precautionary measure due to a loss of pressure in the waterlines. It will remain in effect until water quality testing confirms it is safe for consumption.

To support Inverness water system users, the Municipality is offering a water pick-up.

Water Pick-Up Details:

  • Date: Tuesday, October 27
  • Time: 2:30 – 6 p.m.
  • Location: Inverness Fire Hall, 15797 Central Ave., Inverness

Impacted residents may collect one four-litre jug of drinking water per person, to a maximum of three jugs per household:

  • One-person household: one jug (4 litres)
  • Two-person household: two jugs (8 litres)
  • Three or more people: three jugs (12 litres)

Businesses impacted by the boil water order that wish to have water delivered to them may also call the Municipality toll-free at 1-866-258-0223 #4.

Reminders:

  • Residents requiring assistance with water pick-up, or who have additional questions, are asked to contact the Municipality’s Public Works Department at 1-866-258-0223, option 4 or email Publicworks@invernesscounty.ca.
  • Updates will continue to be shared on invernesscounty.ca and on the Municipality’s Facebook page. Residents are encouraged to check these sources regularly for the latest information.

The Municipality thanks residents for their continued patience while staff work to complete the repairs.
